My mother has been feeding and loving on him. He was burnt in the fire, but his wounds are healing nicely on their own. Please call us at 847-707-2710 to pick him up." (They will try to take him to Petsmart or a vet to get him scanned. The owner's name came up on Google searches as Jose Rangel, with the number listed above. Please contact the rescuers directly for more information, since they have the dog in their possesion. He has a white front cornet as well as the markings you see here. He is tall, easily 16hh, and appears young, maybe 3-ish. Very gentle, and in good shape, not hurt anywhere. The halter is green. I live in Falconhead West off of 71 near Spicewood. A friend of mine and I found him this morning (9/19/2011) while walking our dogs. He's very friendly but was running around with no collar and darted in front of several cars. He's out back playing with my yellow lab. Has been very thirsty and I will feed him tonight if I don't hear from anybody. Could be missing from spicewood fire, steiner or possibly bastrop. Found wearing Blue/Brown Flowers collar near Cottletown Rd. and Long Trail off Hwy 71/95. He is a 4 year old, 15 pound, male, neutered Schipperke, last seen running in the vicinity of Airport, 45th street and I-35. He ran away from his puppy-sitters at about 6pm, Saturday night. His family lost their home to fire in Hurricane Ike, moved to Bastrop and lost their home to fire again. This dog means the world to his family. Around 14100 to 14200 area the dog was standing in the middle of the road and was almost struck by the car in front of me. I stopped and opened my car door and, thankfully, she jumped in before any more traffic arrived.
